The Aman Foundation is a social enterprise focused on catalyzing impactful solutions in Health and Education in Pakistan through direct interventions, convening powerful partnerships and advocating on behalf of the underserved people of Pakistan.
1-NICVD
In June, an MoU was signed with the intention of giving 25 ambulances to the National Institute of Cardio-Vascular Disease (NICVD), so as to best expand and deliver our critical services for the masses, across the city.
Integrated global-standard emergency medical structures are an essential part of any healthcare eco-system. Ours being a replicable and scalable model, NICVD was keen on developing such a system across Sindh with its facilities as the hub and adopting our already certified process and ambulances. Welfare Trust Trustee Amin Hashwani and Aman Foundation Trustee Dr Saadia Quraishy signed the MoU in the presence of media, trustees, management of the two organisations and notable citizens of Karachi.
As Dr. Saadia stated, with partnerships like this, “we at Aman Foundation are pleased that Aman Ambulance’s legacy will not only continue, but thrive.”
2-Independence Day Celebrations at Aman HO
This Independence Day, we celebrated the beginning of Pakistan’s 72nd year. Our esteemed employees and the students of Aman Tech were hosted at the Head Office to celebrate together in a fun-filled occasion where songs were patriotically sung, poetry was passionately recited and speeches were eloquently made. Celebrity guests of honour Yasir Husain and Asad Siddiqui also partook in the event, where they hoisted the flag at the commencement of the ceremony, as well as delivered their meaningful and motivational message to the students. They stressed on the importance of consistently working hard and – as for them with acting – always trying to improve the skill that one wishes to pursue.
In Pakistan, as the youth forms around 60% of the population, we must all recognise and strive for their development, and consequently, the development of our nation. Enhancing our collective skills, so that we may all become productive members of the workforce and battle Pakistan’s rampant unemployment, is vital.
Our Head of Strategic Operations, Khaqan Sikander and Aman Health Executive Director, Shazina Masud, were also present to impart their words of wisdom; instigating the importance of commitment to building a healthy and skilful Pakistan.
Applause and chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” were in no shortage on this morning; the entire hall was filled with zest, enthusiasm and patriotism, which was an infectious energy to witness and be a part of. eHere’s to a great year ahead!
3-Aman Foundation MOU with Bykea
The Aman Foundation was also proud to renew its partnership with Bykea for the collection of donations in Karachi. The MoU was originally signed back in December 2017 whereby Bykea – an all-in-one app for transportation, delivery and payment services – as its pro bono service, engages its partner riders across the city to collect donations on behalf of the Aman Foundation. The Bykea team similarly expressed gratitude to the Aman Foundation for giving them an opportunity to be a part of the journey of transforming the lives of the people of Pakistan.
4-Aman Tech MOU & MOC
a) Title: Aman Tech signs MoU with Archroma Pakistan Limited
Aman Tech further strengthened its ties with Archroma Pakistan Limited. An MOU was signed, renewing terms for another 5 years to facilitate the placement of our Aman Tech graduates into
APL – a market-leader in speciality dyes and chemicals in the country.
Present at the signing ceremony were CEO, Aman Foundation, Mr. Malik Ahmad Jalal, and CEO Archroma Pakistan Ltd., Mr. Mujtaba Rahim.
b) Title: Aman Tech signs MoC with MechanicUstaad.pk
Aman Tech also acquired another reputable partner by signing an MOC with MechanicUstaad.pk – a leading automobile maintenance solution provider and Pakistan’s fastest growing online mechanic company.
This agreement provides an additional avenue for the youth of Pakistan, particularly Aman Alumni’s future placements and collaborations.
Mechanic Ustaad also participated in a counselling and networking session at the end of August to encourage the future leaders of the industry.
Co-Founder Sajid Shaikh delivered a speech to the students about the potential of the industry and
the importance of nurturing skills.
5-Counselling Session – Aman Tech
Aman Tech held a counselling and networking session for students, in which 26 representatives from 16 different industries helped the students to formulate a career plan and shared with them their OJT (on-the-job training) plan of 3 months.
142 students of GIZ were counselled from their trade related industries such as automobile, electrical and electronics, refrigeration and air-conditioning, office automation and more. Among the presence of other industry leaders such as Daraaz, Jubilee Life, Glacier Engineering and Master Motor Corporation Pvt Ltd, was Mechanic Ustaad, Aman Tech’s partner and Pakistan’s emerging online mechanic company.
At the end of the entire session, the students were also offered advanced job placements. We are thankful to all those who came out to spend time with us at Aman Tech. And we hope to continue the tradition of offering networking and counselling sessions for our students, so that they are provided with the best possible opportunities when they are ready to take the industry by storm!
6-Aman Tech student (Khizar)
Graduate of Aman Tech, Khizar Rashid, began his journey with, to his admission, absolutely no practical skills. Flash forward 6 months. He completed his course with flying colours and was able to hone his skills to such an extent that he was granted employment at Lotte Kolson, where he worked in the electrical department for 2 years.
Khizar was even offered the position of an Assistant Engineer at K-Electric. However, upon Aman Tech’s advice, he applied for an internship position at Siemens, in Germany. Out of 75 students across the nation, Khizar was the one who was selected from Pakistan.
Now, he is on his way for a 4 year study programme in Berlin, where he hopes to learn all that he can with the solid intention of bringing his knowledge and skills back to Pakistan, where it is needed most. We wish Khizar all the best for his future and could not be prouder of him and all he has already achieved.
7-Aman Tech Orientation
We would also officially like to welcome our new batch of Aman Tech students. They had their Orientation Session on Friday the 27th of July, where they were given an overview of the courses, soft skills training, career services, a brief on our rules and regulations, as well as, of course, a tour of the facilities. There was also an oath-taking ceremony which all attendees were delighted to be a part of.
Aman Tech has always aimed to economically and socially empower the youth of Pakistan by providing avenues to enhance their skills and prospects of employability, not to mention, to have a positive impact on their respective wider communities. We sincerely hope the next few months of our Aman Tech students’ journeys are as gratifying as we know they will be!
8-Services Integration
Over this past year, various collaborations were solidified in the effort to scale our impact and in the hopes to transform more lives. As with the integration of the Aman Ambulance into the existing public/private sector healthcare system, – such as with SPAS – a consistent deployment of the Aman Model will continue, whereby our operations grow as originally envisioned.
The future operations of Aman ambulances will be executed through partnerships with strategically aligned implementing partners, like the National Institute of Cardiovascular Services (NICVD), as previously mentioned.
The goal of this strategy is to spread Aman’s DNA across like-minded organisations and create sustainable operating and HR capabilities in order to successfully enter into larger platforms or civic infrastructures of Pakistan, for greater scale.
